Tada, my yuan weapon fully assembled and held next to me~! (sorta)
The weapon is....about 6' tall. (And because of it I couldn't get into the dealers room LOL. The weapon was too big to take into the room because the dealers room was slightly shorter, height wise, than your average room.) This was taken by the guy who runs [link] so I guess this photo is technically his 8D;; I realize the weapon looks a little...curved in the picture. It's not supposed to be. Because it comes apart in the middle, it kinda 'flops' a bit if I don't support both halves evenly/enough. Place: Anime USA 2008, Arlington Virginia At the Hyatt Regency Crystal City |

...omg so amazing. X3 I'm not even a Yuan fangirl, but I love amazing cosplays of him...
Insulation foam coated with poster paper and wonderflex, I'd guess. It's surprisingly light despite it's size.
(my father and I tried to make the weapon, but it kinda FAILED...like, a lot. It fell apart when I picked it up even after everything had dried. So we then commissioned it made online.
Thanks you ^_^b

Thank you, that's useful to know. It's a good thing it's light for it's size, since it would be quite hard to lift otherwise. XD And commissioning is fine; commissioners need money too, right?
You're ever so welcome~ ^w^
Resin isn't very heavy and (even though you can't see it too well) if you don't make it too dark it dries so you can see the olor of the resin but it's still clear enough to see through *sorta*
You could maybe make his jewely across-the-chest bling; I'd imagine it would turn out well.
Srsly, right? XD

Thanks for the tip! I will try not to make it too dark. It was his bling that I was planning on using resin for, though up 'till now I was afraid it wouldn't work. Awesome~ Excited now, even though it isn't planned for a while.
